Introduction

In order to increase your chances of winning races, it is crucial to optimize your machine's setup to match both your preferences and the track conditions. To aid in this process, Yamaha Motors has developed the PowerTuner app for their Yamaha YZ series and WR series motorcycles (*1). With this app, riders can easily and quickly adjust engine and suspension settings to suit their needs and the specific conditions. And the best part? All of these features are available at no additional cost!

Description

• Mapping: The PowerTuner app offers three types of settings: Fuel Injection (FI) and Ignition (IG), Traction Control, and Launch Control. With FI and IG settings, users can make intuitive adjustments by selecting either "Smooth" or "Aggressive". For more advanced customization, there are 16 points (4x4) available to adjust each setting according to engine speed and throttle opening. Traction Control allows riders to adjust the level of intervention in three different levels, while Launch Control enables users to set the "Rev limit" specifically for launches.
• Monitor: Through the PowerTuner app, riders can access various useful information such as race logs, failure diagnostics, machine status, vehicle speed, throttle opening, engine speed, fuel consumption, water temperature, intake air temperature, and battery voltage. All of these data can be conveniently displayed on your smartphone.
• Lap timer (Time): Users can measure their lap times using the multi-function button on the left handlebar of their machine. After each race or practice session, all recorded data are automatically stored in the machine's CCU (Competition Control Unit) and can be later reviewed on your smartphone. This feature allows riders to numerically assess the impact of different settings and identify any lap time variations that occur in real race conditions.
• Set Up: To assist riders in setting up their engine and suspension, the PowerTuner app provides a helpful setup guide in a FAQ-style format. This guide can be easily accessed and referred to on your smartphone, making the setup process straightforward and accessible for all riders.
